The JKL Ranch and Grove is a true getaway. Nine miles down a remote
country road, secluded from the every day noise of traffic and urban
living, is an oasis situated in the "real" Florida. As you turn into
the property - marked by a discreet sign and gated - you are embraced
by huge, mature grapefruit trees smelling sweetly in the spring and
shading your adventure. Right away you may see a herd of deer leap
across your field of vision, eagles soar, and bunnies hop along. As
you continue down the driveway (a half mile long) you come into the
orange trees and then you see the little pond where you can picture
yourself kicking back and tossing a line into its quiet stillness.
Once you go through the gate into the house site, you experience the
10 acres of a mix of indigenous and non-indigenous trees and
landscaping. There are huge cypress trees in the wetland area, maples
that turn bright red in January hug the side of the 2 large sheds and
large oaks line the drive itself. The back of the house has a
forest-like quality - a shelter for birds and a diverse array of
wildlife. The pole barn is not only functional - protecting your toys
from the direct sun - it is also attractive with its green metal roof.
Storage galore for all sorts of huge tools and toys - 2 sheds - one
an airplane hangar and the other almost as large. The house itself
has an over-sized 2 car garage conveniently attached to the house.
Enter the house itself and you will immediately experience its warmth
and invitation to relax. The warm tongue n groove honey-colored cedar
ceilings in the living room and dining area were lovingly installed by
the former owner and the special rock fireplace and wall in the
living room. Almost all the living space opens up to the large
screened lanai with its kidney shaped fiberglass pool creating an open
and airy feeling. The view from the windows is graced by the green
spaces of the forest behind the house. The living room,
dining/kitchen area and master suite all open onto the lanai. The
kitchen has all amenities - self-cleaning oven, JennAir stove top in
the island, microwave, quiet energy-saving dishwasher and
energy-saving side by side refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen is
covered on all four walls with floor to ceiling honey oak cabinets.
Truly a cook's kitchen! The master suite is big and airy with cedar
lined closet. The extra bedrooms are on the other side of the house -
a true split plan - with pocket doors to enhance their privacy (and
yours). Those two bedrooms share a full bath. The master suite has
dual sink vanity with lots of cabinets and great lighting with a full
bath tub and rain forest shower. The bonus room can be used for all
sorts of fun - huge and air-conditioned, it can be used for ping pong
or pool or just another relaxing spot for reading. The washer and
dryer reside here in this cool work space.
This is truly a special place where our sons and daughters have played
on 4 wheelers and neighbors ride up on their horses and my husband has
hunted and fished and we have soared over the open fields surrounding
our property on our ultra-light. One of our favorite past-times is
watching the sun go down over the neighbors field from our large,
multi-person tree stand.
So come and experience this lovely oasis in the heart of the true
Florida. Experience the deer nibbling at your bird feeder, the
beautiful painted buntings and cardinals, the eagles and bobcats and
the silence. All experienced in absolute comfort.
